Xanga shmanga. This isn't LiveJournal either. It's just a bunch of words drenched in pure awesomesauce.

It's been years since I've done something like this and ordinarily I think it's a bit hokey, but with my formal education being over now that I graduated from law school, I have a lot to deal with with the next chapter in my life.  Therefore, why not go ahead and chronicle it to get my ass motivated to set out and do what I want to do?  Oh yes, and feel free to read my musings as well.

If there's one thing that law school has done to me, it has made me not so fit anymore.  Being the snowboard bum that I am, I discovered this while bombing down a black diamond and nearly died from exhaustion.  I want to progress with my riding to the point where I can shoot down back country runs with ease and be superman about it, plus my blood pressure needs to be lowered stat.  So what am I doing?  I've been embracing the Flexitarian diet regimen:  Consume meat twice a week while the rest of time eat a diet primarily composed of fruits, vegetables, nuts (the almond, peanut, and cashew variety you perverted asshole), and some dairy products.  I'm not dropping meat entirely because of my love for steaks and Fogo de Chao (seriously, it is the best place on Earth).  Plus, as one of the special ladies in my life so aptly stated, "You'll be begging and crying for a piece of Prime Rib within a week if you go vegan.  I know you, HuevoSplash."  She's completely right.

So far it's been about three weeks into the diet, and I can definitely say I feel better and feel more energetic after cutting out meat and a lot of junk food.  Hopefully this will lead me to dropping 30-40 pounds within the seven months, just in time for Winter.  That way I'll be a lean, mean, snow shreddin' machine.

Part of my inspiration for suffering through this?  One of my idols, Mr. Torstein Horgmo:

"Horgasm: A Love Story": One of the best snowboarding movies out there.

So that's post one.  I have no idea how many times I'll post, but maybe once or twice I week I'll write to start off.  Till then, remember:  There are no friends on a powder day.
